Early Years Literacy & Numeracy Ref Committee

The committee assists educators in schools and preschools, professional learning networks and districts as they plan for improved literacy learning outcomes for young children.

It also strengthens early years teachers’ understanding and knowledge of literacy and numeracy.

A number of resources have been produced by the group and are readily available.

‘The South Australian Literacy Program’ is one resource that has been designed to focus inquiry into current literacy teaching practices with a view to making positive changes as a whole site, building on the strengths within a site, adding new strategies, and discarding those that are not helpful for children and educators.
