The Federal Government's new pathway into teaching initiative 'Teach for Australia' will attract high-achieving graduates from, such as Mathematics and Science into teaching. 

Graduates are provided six weeks of accelerated teacher and leadership training before being placed in a teaching position with a public secondary school.

The primary aim of the Education Revolution is to improve teacher quality. 

Teacher quality is the single greatest in-school influence on student engagement and results.

Research shows that teachers with advanced subject knowledge have a corresponding effect on student outcomes.

'Teach For Australia' will address the shortage of maths and science teachers in our public high schools - particularly evident in SA where up to 40% of science teachers are qualified in the subjects they teach.
